- Guelph & Area Luxury Living
Guelph and the surrounding area is filled with luxury living options.
We are very fortunate to live, work and raise our families in one of the most prosperous, economically diverse and consistent real estate markets across the country. The Guelph area is annually recognized as one of the best places in Canada to live and invest your money into the housing market. We are pretty proud of our region and more than happy to share some propaganda, just check out our neighbourhood videos!
Luxury living certainly comes in many forms, and the high-end market in the Guelph area truly does have something for every taste. Well-appointed condos overlooking the Downtown core, city estates surrounded my mature landscapes, large family subdivision homes, country estate subdivisions, true custom homebuilding opportunities and dreamy rural homesteads, we have it all mere minutes apart.
Here is what you can expect to find in the Guelph area:
A new market to Guelph, but a very legitimate one all the same. Top-of-the-city views in all directions, unprecedented finishes inside and lavish outdoor terraces to replace the backyard you left behind. It’s not quite downtown Toronto, but neither is the price point. We think you will appreciate what you get for your luxury condo dollar in Downtown Guelph.
19th and 20th century neighbourhoods like Exhibition Park, St.George’s Park, Historic Guelph and Old University are characterized by looming trees and lush manicured gardens. A number of larger homes are being purchased now by younger generations and renovated to a modern standard. Rarely available, these homes usually fetch quite an audience when they do come to public market. Private estates set amongst streets designed to be walkable and highly social.
From the mid 20th century right up until today, local builders have been providing new up-scale living options inside the city limits. Large homes with big backyards are consistently sought after by growing families. Areas like Kortright East, Old University, Kortright Hills and Pine Ridge/Westminster Woods just never seem to fall out of favour. Properties are rare to come to market, as many families choose to put down extended roots once they have found their dream home. The high-end renovation on older homes with substantial lots is one of the hottest tickets in town these days.
Country Estate Subdivisions
A major reason for many to move out of the city, be it Guelph or the surrounding GTA, is a move to a family estate subdivision in the townships surrounding Guelph. Communities like Aberfoyle are well known throughout the GTA for providing maximum impact for you luxury real estate dollar. Large custom-built homes on sprawling 1 acre+ lots and all perfectly surrounded by protected lands. It’s not all about the less expensive option than GTA-based estate subdivisions, it’s often about a quieter setting, slower pace and being part of a very tight-knit family-oriented community.
If you can’t find it in the resale market, you can always build the perfect luxury estate in the Guelph area. The townships provide vacant land opportunities, although recent tightening of the severance rules in some areas has greatly reduced the amount of available properties for purchase. We highly recommend obtaining the services of a local pro (small plug for our services), as many severed lots do not make it to public market. Large acreages and incredible local builders are just waiting for your ideas.
Some folks just prefer the quiet of the perfect country setting. Maybe it’s a horse farm, or a simple as a beautiful family retreat in the forest. If that’s your cup of tea, you are in luck as the townships surrounding Guelph have plenty of that to go around. Substantial acreages, equine facilities, and working farms are not easy to come by, however a little patience in the market will be rewarded.
