My Experience

I have always been an investor.

My education is in finance and economics, so I had originally built my career in venture capital and angel investment following the completion of my degree. After spending eight years refining my skills in this area, I felt it was time to diversify my investments and take on some new challenges. I started building my own real estate portfolio and enjoyed every aspect of the process. From searching for the perfect property to different construction methods, property management and the all-important refinance.

When I first began this chapter of building my property portfolio, I never saw myself becoming a realtor. It was only after 2 years, 9 properties and 12 rental units that I found myself wanting to show others how to build their real estate portfolios. Through my own personal real estate adventures, I have gained experience that extends far beyond the average transaction. I can help my clients find hidden value in distressed properties, uncover transactional efficiency, negotiate winning deals, compare various construction methods, and most importantly, make great investments.

My Approach

I believe in a numbers-based approach to real estate. Whether it’s your first rental property or your primary residence. Real estate is one of the largest transactions you’ll make in a lifetime and an important part of your investment portfolio. If the numbers don’t make sense, then the transaction doesn’t make sense.

That being said, the real estate journey is a long process and smart investors know that you can’t swing at every pitch. I understand this more than anyone and will always be in your corner regardless of the setbacks, near misses or length of the journey to find great investment properties.

  • Someone smarter than me once said, “people don’t remember what you say, they remember how you make them feel”. Time and time again this quote has proven itself true in my decision to work with a professional. Developing a strong relationship with my clients built on trust and loyalty is extremely important. You won’t see my face on the back of the bus because I prefer to gain clients through referrals.

Walk the Talk

  • As mentioned earlier, I have years of real-world experience under my belt. I have encountered strange and unusual circumstances that have made deals difficult to price and value. However, given my experience as both investor, constructor and developer I can help steer clients away from bad decisions and towards profitable ones.

Community

  • I was born and raised in the Waterloo region and have strong roots in the community. I have always been a huge supporter of this region and truly believe that it is transforming into the most sought-after region in Canada. There is a perfect storm brewing here of culture, growth, and development and I’d love to show it to you.
