Growing up, my family did not have much. I was fortunate that I had and have so many family members that love me and supported me and truly wanted the very best for me. They wanted to see me graduate; and so I became a graduate from Centennial C.V.I in Guelph and later graduated with a Psychology Degree from Laurentian University. However, that wasn't enough for me. I wanted a career where I could help people. So I was accepted to attend Lakehead University's 1 year Honors Bachelor of Social Work program and graduated with a part time job at The Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge & North Dumfries. I had an opportunity to learn so much from the counsellors and support staff; but often felt that it was not enough. I never did feel fully satisfied that I was really helping anyone and realized I needed a much more hands on role in the field. I went on to work part time for Community Living Dufferin and LOVED it. I truly enjoyed building relationships with all of the people I had the privilege of supporting.
Although I was blessed with these opportunities, I wanted to make a permanent career in Social Work which I found to be a daunting and defeating task. I felt like I had so much to give back; so much enthusiasm, excitement and energy to help, compassion, understanding and empathy, and most of all a willingness and desire to learn. I knocked on hundreds of doors and was left with only a handful of interviews and fewer opportunities. I was often reminded that I was a great candidate, but there was someone else better suited for the job. I continued to try to make it in Social Work for approximately 3 years while working multiple jobs in order to keep my dream alive and reach my goal.
Last year, after beginning the search for my own home, did I realize that real estate was my passion. I have always found myself desperate to call a house a home, as this was never something I had in my life. Moving from location to location as a child, and inevitably a student, I wanted a place to lay my head where I felt safe, secure and somewhere I could lay some roots and make memories. I knew that during my search, this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I desperately wanted to be on the front line helping my clients find their safe haven, their first homes, their family homes, retirement and vacation properties. I desperately wanted to help my clients feel the excitement, the relief and the accomplishment I felt; and so I completed my real estate license and want nothing more than to help you, your friends and your family fulfill their dreams and to reach their goals.
As a lifelong Guelph resident I have attained a unique and diverse knowledge of the area, and as such, I am able to effectively serve the diverse needs of my clients. I have had the opportunity to watch the city grow, develop and expand into one of the most beautiful southern Ontario cities that exist. It is my goal to build your dreams a home and begin with a foundation built with sincerity, integrity, honesty and commitment. With a background in competitive sports, I thrive when working together. I am invested in my clients and guarantee that behind the scenes I am working diligently to ensure you are fully satisfied with your real estate transactions.
