Moving toward Waterloo’s northern end is the community of Lakeshore. Considered to be one of the largest neighbourhoods in Waterloo, it is a beautiful area that maintains close proximity to the Universities, making it popular for young families and students alike. Lakeshore has a wide variety of housing options for all including semi-detached homes, townhomes, and single family homes. Residents of Lakeshore can also enjoy easy access to Uptown Waterloo, the Expressway, and Conestoga Mall.
The homes in Lakeshore are older homes, but with that comes wide streets lined with beautifully, matured trees. With numerous parks and walking trails to explore, this neighbourhood is a wonderful choice for people with active lifestyles and families who simply enjoy the outdoors. For those individuals who prefer the more modern active amenities, City of Waterloo’s Albert McCormick Arena is located centrally for all to enjoy. Popular events at the arena include indoor skating, hockey, and lacrosse.
Not only is Lakeshore a short distance from the Universities, but there is also no shortage of schools directly in the neighbourhood. For grades JK-6; N.A. MacEachern Public School, Winston Churchill Public School, and Cedarbrae Public School are available. Whereas Sir. Edgar Bauer Public School is available for students in JK-8.
