Welcome to Beechwood - one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Waterloo.
With numerous recreation areas, childcare facilities, schools and parks it’s a popular choice for growing families. Here you’ll find large traditional homes set back from the street on spacious lots with mature trees. This area is known for its great location, well-maintained properties and close-knit community.
With six home associations, there is always something to do in Beechwood. Take part in countless social events including movie nights in the park, bingo, craft workshops and even an end-of-summer carnival. Each association offers a pool and tennis court for members to enjoy, most even offering summer swimming lessons. With several soccer fields, skating rinks and paved walking trails through parks, this neighbourhood was created with families in mind.
Beechwood is centrally located in Waterloo, offering convenient access to The Boardwalk, Uptown Waterloo, Waterloo Park and several shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities. An added benefit is the close proximity to both University of Waterloo and Sir Wilfrid Laurier University. Many professors and executives from the universities choose to call Beechwood home, and it is an ideal location for students as well. You’ll find many renting basement apartments or living in rental apartments along Erb St W.
Beechwood offers two public schools within the neighbourhood. Elementary students can expect to attend Keatsway PS for grades JK-6 with the option for French immersion before moving on to Centennial PS for grades 7-8. They will then attend Waterloo Collegiate Institute for highschool. Young Catholic students will attend St. Nicholas Catholic School, and then will continue their highschool education while attending Resurrection Secondary Catholic School.
