Considered to be one of the largest and oldest neighbourhoods in Waterloo, Lakeshore is a beautiful area located in the center of the city.
This established neighbourhood features wide streets lined with mature trees, numerous schools and parks as well as a broad range of amenities. It’s no wonder so many families choose this area to call home.
There is something for everyone in Lakeshore with a wide variety of housing options. Made up of both single and semi-detached homes, townhomes and rental apartments, most properties in the neighbourhood were built in the 60s and 70s. While this community is popular among families, you’ll also find many empty-nesters who have lived here for 30+ years, as well as university students just starting out.

Quick access to the expressway, Northfield Drive and Westmount Road make it easy to get around town. Just a short distance from the Universities, Uptown Waterloo, Conestoga Mall and more, residents can easily enjoy amenities throughout the city.
Not only is Lakeshore a short distance from the Universities, but there is also no shortage of schools directly in the neighbourhood. For grades JK-6; N.A. MacEachern PS, Winston Churchill PS, and Cedarbrae PS are available. Whereas Sir. Edgar Bauer PS is available for students in JK-8.
