Nestled in the heart of Kitchener lies the picturesque neighbourhood of Rockway.
With its charming tree-lined streets, beautifully manicured lawns, and stunning homes, Rockway is a place where residents take pride in their community and the beauty that surrounds them. Rockway has homes built in the first half of the 1900s varying from the 1910s to 1960s. Although the homes are older here, they provide an old-world charm you cannot achieve in many new subdivisions. While the neighbourhood is mostly made up of war-time homes situated on spacious lots and low to mid-rise apartment buildings, there are also some newer developments as well.
Rockway is conveniently located near excellent access to Highway 8 which leads directly to the 401, it also provides easy and convenient access to all of the fantastic features on Fairway Road. Some of those great features include Fairview Park Mall, Cineplex, and plenty of big box stores and restaurants to ensure you are entertained and well-fed while you enjoy your outing.
For individuals who enjoy the quieter side of things, Rockway Gardens offers a stunning garden that is lovingly maintained by the Kitchener Horticultural Society. This is a well-known venue for local weddings and during the summer months, it’s very common to drive by and see a beautiful bride and groom enjoying their special day. Not to be forgotten is Rockway Golf course, an attractively landscaped 18-hole course that was built in 1934 and is a popular destination for golfers of all skill levels. The course is well-maintained and features a number of challenging holes, as well as a driving range and practice greens. And of course, Montgomery Park is located just at the edge of Rockway, and offers residents in the area a variety of different sports fields, walking trails and even a horseshoe pit.
Another popular attraction in Rockway is the Rockway Community Centre, which is home to a variety of programs and activities for people of all ages. The centre features a fitness centre, a gymnasium, and a pool, as well as a number of meeting rooms and activity spaces. From fitness classes to swimming lessons, the centre is a place where residents can come together to learn, grow, and socialize.
