Once based on the outer city limits, Westvale has since been embraced by Waterloo through its expansion to the west end of the city.

Now considered to be a well-established, much-loved neighbourhood, it dates back more than 30 years. Public school students can look forward to attending Westvale Public School from JK-6 prior to moving on to Centennial Public School, where they will be bussed to. Those students attending high school will be bussed to Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate & Vocational School. Catholic school students are able to attend Holy Rosary Catholic School in Westvale for JK-8 before advancing to Resurrection Catholic Secondary School.
